  • Food Halls vary widely in price depending on size of the space and the quality of the finishes chosen by the developer. The primary cost of a food hall lies in the kitchen equipment and MEP required for the multiple kitchens. Kitchen costs run at about $450 PSF. A high-level estimate for the fit-out of a food hall (excluding building construction costs) is between $375 - $550 PSF, depending on the style and finishes chosen.

  • While there are many factors that contribute to a food hall’s success, population size and density are the most critical metrics. An average food hall needs a minimum of 750 - 1500 transactions per day to survive. If the available trading area doesn’t support this volume, the chances of success are minimal.

  • Like any construction project, a food hall build-out, from design to launch, can take anywhere from 12 to 18 months. Curation and operational setup can take 9 to 14 months, depending on the project's complexity.

  • A food court is generally made up of individually leased fast food chains that operate independently within a high-turnover environment. A Food Hall is a fully managed venue featuring celebrated local food vendors hand-selected by the operator. Food Halls feature a consistent, high-quality design, full service bars and an ongoing roster of activities and entertainment.
